This course is designed to teach students about diseases resistant grapevine breeding
Several aspects of genetic improvement of grapevines for resistance to diseases will be covered, including tradional grape variety selection and new techniques for disease resistance, identification of Disease Resistant Germplasm.
The genetic determinant of disease resistance and production of new cultivars resistant to downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola), powdery mildew (Erysiphe necator) and other diseases will be discussed.
